Hey guys! I got the approval from Roger Gustin @ Super Chevy for the S/SS race in Gainesville. I have talked to Jim @ The S/SS Assoc. and he is volunteering to come up and run the deal for me. THANKS JIM!!
The entry fee is going to be $60...this is the same as Super Chevy's entry fee. It will follow ALL S/SS Assoc. rules. The only thing is it is only open to ANY GM product....sorry Mopar and Ford guys.....it will also be a NON points race for the Association. There will be 2 time runs on Saturday to be run with the Pro Show..More spectators.....The race will be run on Sunday with the Pros. I hope alot of you can make it. We will be bringing 2 Stockers, I think Woodro will come, and had a few others interested. I really hope we can get a good number of cars so we can do it again in the future. There is also a T-N-T on Friday, usually run by the track, if anyone needs to do a little work on their cars. If you have any questions, feel free to call me @ 615-826-4914. Jim and Woodro know where I work if you need to know that too. Thanks!!! Last edited by Crisco; 08-07-2008 at 11:03 AM. |

Too bad about not allowing Ford and Mopar racers in.
At the Memorial weekend all Mopar race in Fontana CA, they also had a stock/superstock race and they allowed the non mopar racers in.

The Super Chevy guys are really excited about having us there. They are great people to be around and go out of their way to take care of participants and sponsors. Please try to support this event. We need a good car count. Who knows, if it goes well this could become a regular part of their program.

Class racers, here's your chance to show your stuff, polish those cars and tune them up for the big show. Being part of the main attraction and not the filler will put you back up to the status everyone enjoyed when stock and superstock was king. Let's all get together and support this shootout. Everything will be contested under the southern stock/superstock association format and rules so we do not exclude any legal nhra/ihra combination. this is also open to all legal pre 60's stockers. Please email me if you are planning to attend so I can give Chris an estimated car count and plan our race staff we will need to insure a safe and fun race. fastcars52@netzero.com thank you

please allow me to clarify the s/ss race at superchevy at gainesville. this race is being put on by chris and open to all GM cars. This is not a southern stock/superstock race . I volunteered to go up and run this race. The next sssa race has not been determined at this time. I trust this will clear up any confusion for the ssssa members. This race could possibly be a regular part of the show if they get enough participation. please send any questions to my email . thank you

I can guarantee that between me, Kevin and Crisco there will not be a shortage of crown. It will probably be more plentiful than race gas
