I have a H/CM camaro that I run in the local S/SS series. My problem is this. With minimum weather change the car is breaking out by at least .12 on the breaks. If I hold it it through the lights will break out by .16 or more. For instance in 3 time runs, it ran exactly the same, within .006. Ist round maybe 25 minutes later...it goes .11 faster on the breaks hard. 350/330hp Vortec combo in a 68 Camaro. The 60ft times are always the same 1.51-1.53. It seems to be gaining before the 1/8 mile looking at the time slips. Where should I start looking? Any help would be greatly appriciated...i hate loosing in the first round with a .020 light.

If you're talkin' Saturday, the tailwind in first round could have pushed you under. Then again, if you're gettin' tired of losing that way, I have a list of ways to head home in a different fashion!! Glad to share those with you anytime.
No worries TV, you'll get a handle on it.

Quit (trying I meant) dialing so hard and freight training it. Just dump at the 1000 and 1254 marks and you'll be all set. Or dial softer and fender them or back into them.

When I had issues like that between the 60' and 330' timers, it was the torque converter I was using with my 3-speed.
Never had a swing like that though. Mine was more like .03-.05 What is your converter, gear, trans combination, and your launch/shift RPM's? |

Stick car or Automatic? I had issues just like that in my 3 speed but my problem was the darn electric shifter, the RPM switch was bad and one round to the next it would shift like 5-600 Rpm Different.

I say 25 minutes...it was probably an hour for real. Whats a good temp to be at with a 350 turbo?

According to the TCI information, you don't have enough gear, and are not spinning enough RPM's to use that Group 4 converter.
If you aren't running class heads up, and want bracket style consistency, an 8" Opel style converter would be the choice, I think. Quote:
Jeesh, that didn't work very well...... http://www.tciauto.com/Products/Comp...p_conv_7in.asp Last edited by Dave Goob Cook; 09-05-2008 at 12:23 PM. Reason: Fubar |
