I'll believe a 30.50 barometer when I see it! You said the altitude is 476 ft???? Is that the track itself? I'll bet by tomorrow am the barometer is 29.50 and the humidity is 75% or better. It's supposed to rain on Saturday!

accu weather forcast says. Barometer 30.55 and steady 81% humidity and a high of 54. currently 36 sounds fast to me if humidity burns off.

It's all relative. If I recall, Accuweather's numbers are typically about .5 high on the barometer. Maple Grove's physical altitiude is around 350'.
I've been there, scraping ice off the window, with a D.A. of -1750'... people were running a half second quicker than their best!

We have been there, the guages say you going to be flying and the mist is hanging over the mountian and you miss your dial by a tenth. My partner is at the track and will give me the update, time will tell. In 20years never saw 30.5 barometer, I agreee with Dan, they be smoking someting.

Just fired up the weather station: 29.98 absolute barometer w/ 26 grains water vapor or .177 vapor pressure. Weather services report SEA LEVEL barometer and they are reporting 30.50 for today. At track physical altitude that gives us the absolute barometer of 29.98. Pretty stout no matter how you figure it!!!!

The link above is to a website that calculates the Barometer at sea level. Like someone said above, most weather stations report Barometer at sea level. This calculator gives you a ball park figure of actual barometer. |
