How many races do you count for divisional points?
(is it best 5 out of 6.... 5 out of 7.....)
How many out of division races can you claim?

Tom

5 out of 8
Last year you had to run a minimum of 4 in but I think that is being changed to 3 for this year.

Why so many 1/8 mile races? Especially on 1/4 mile tracks (Pittsburgh, Richmond, Rockingham)

Question Re: IHRA Pro Am schedule posted

Well I never thought I'd ever say this but it looks like it'll actually be cheaper for me to race NHRA than IHRA this year!! OMG... :-P I can attend more races for less travel and money and at much nicer facilities. And actually have the chance to chase the national and divisional points, that I can't in IHRA because its too expensive and I can't get that much time off work. thats hilarious..

That schedule is so bad geographically for me that it might not even be worth it to renew my ihra license!

The number of contestants for division three should rise this year. Division one may gain some participants from the northern and southern region with the alignment of the tracks.

IHRA needs more 1/4 mile races. Drag racing is 1/4 mile, football is a 100 yard field, it's 90' between the bases at a baseball stadium. Race 1/4 mile (when the track is 1/4 mile) or it's not worth racing. Just when you get enough MPH to make it fun, it's over! It's not the Daytona 250, or the Indy 300!

A nice 1/4 mile like Pittsburgh and it's an 1/8....that sucks! If I don't do well starting at Budds Creek in April,I can kiss off IHRA for the rest of the year.

I would venture to guess that T/S, T/D and perhaps some of the higher MPH 8.90 cars play more into IHRA;s decision making that anything else.
