Default Trailer Tires

Ok, I know this has been hashed out before, but I have a question. I need to get some quickly, as its testing time in 3- 4 weeks.

Has anyone ever used a tire called Duro, like this one ?

Duro 2100 ST 235/80R16 E

Thanks,

There are a few places like this one on ebay.

But nothing beats a quality tire with a quality metal valve stem.

I have had blown trailer tires over the years, like a lot of people and tried a lot of them. I have never heard of Duro but almost every ST tire is made in the far east...China, Taiwan. That includes Goodyear and Titan. I blew a Titan last summer and thought they were better......NOPE..... 15" rims, you don't have much choice but to use an ST tire.....With 16" rims you are better off using an E rated LT pickup truck tire......

Kenny, I will second what Rich said about the LT truck tires. There is alot more selection and if you have a problem on the road you will have a better chance at finding a replacement.

Kenny,

Definately go with the E load range 16" light truck tire. I have them on both my truck and trailer. I have had real good luck with them. I run a 215 85 R16 on both. Go with a good brand that way if you need help on the road you can get a replacement tire just about anywhere. I have Goodyears on the trailer and Coopers on the truck. Dont forget to check your wheel bearings. I lost a wheel bearing going to the SSSSA race in Reynolds last year. No fun..

Thanks everyone ! I think Painter got me the hook up for some. He called me this morning and told me of a place near here.
E rated LT's ? I thought LT's couldnt handle the twisting that trailer does ? Well, we'll see. I have some new 16" wheels Jimmy Parker told me about. I have'nt had anytrouble with what looks to be the original 15" tires on my trailer, even though they were hardly used untill I got it, now they are checking and cracking along the edge of the tread, so its time to get new ones.

Thanks again all , and Happy New Year !!
