Default Question for Louisiana racers

I'm coming down for the Cajun Sportsnats next weekend and then going to Houston the following weekend. I was thinking about spending a couple days in New Orleans in between and am looking for any suggestions as far as hotels in the area that would be safe to park the truck and trailer for a couple days. I'm towing with a pick-up so I'll probably leave the trailer parked by itself while we're out and about.

Thanks

You can leave your trailer at HRP starting on tuesday or wednesday, security will be there. Go to the Kemah Boardwalk while you are down here. They just got it reopened from the damage hurricane IKE inflicted on it. also Space Center Houston at NASA is a nice place to visit. I work out there (contractor for NASA) along with a few other racers.

When you are at the nat's in Houston, drive down to the last turn around and say HI. I will be working the turnaround. I think my wife is going to be working the staging lanes.

Bobby,

Think he was talking about a place around New Orleans. Some of the racers from down around that area could recommend a few places.

Drew,
In Houston, though, what Bobby mentioned would be worth your time if you have a day or two.

Drew, you might want to talk to Jimmy Hidalgo while at Belle Rose, he knows New Orleans like the back of his hand! His Cell Number is 225-717-1493

Thanks for the replies guys. Right now I'm planning on going to Houston Wednesday morning but may end up going earlier, we'll just have to see. If thats the case I can just park holding lot they're going to have.

Guys,

We do not have anything going on at the track until Wednesday night after the SportsNationals. Linda & I built a small house outside the gate, and Paul & Carolyn Cartwright live in the apartment in our big shop building.

Ya'll are welcome to leave your rigs at the track until Wednesday night. We lock the gates at night, but are here 24/7 most of the time. With the PINKS event & the SportsNationals within 3 weeks of each other, Linda & I haven't had but one day to check on our "real" home in Slidell. Good neighbors collect our mail while we are away from home. Needed a wheelbarrel last time....

Give me a call on my cell (985) 665-7145 if you need any help.

Pat
