I really underestimated the "estimated" car count... With the economy the way it is, I figured that we would need about 400 tech cards... Linda had to scramble to get another 160 racer packets together.
It rained 6" here the Friday-Monday before we started parking on Wednesday, but eventulally dried up by Sunday. Lots of good parking spaces got cancelled with the drians being soaked. I put 180 miles on my Honda Rebel (and never left the track). That is more than double the miles it took Jeff Teuton to make the round trip from Houma. Linda figured that it would take 30 hours in a day in order for us to get 8 hours of sleep, but it was well worth the effort to take care of our racing buddies. For the first time since we opened NPR in 2001, we did not have a single complaint from any compeditor on raceday! We used 250+ gallons of VHT on the track in 4 days. The track was hooking so hard that one Top Dragster broke the center of his back rim from the tire and wheel. Only two minor "wall incidents"... Top Dragster with only one back rim leaving starting line, and another dragster with front tire problem. Final stats... Two hits, thousands of runs, and no men left on base = HOME RUN. Several racers still here waiting to go to the Houston nationals. At least, that is what they say. Linda thinks they just want to stay here until next year. We opened up the starting line yesterday for a couple of racers from "up north" so that they could get some clutch issues lined out before Houston. Thanks to all of the racers, sponsors, and fans for making this event such a showcase. And thanks to all of the NHRA officials for doing such a fine job and taking care of the sportsmen racers. And a special thanks to our new managers, Mr. Paul Cartwright and his wife Carolyn for making our life so much easier at the track. Pat & Linda (2 tired puppies) |

I didn't realize how soft the ground was when I parked Wednesday and apologize for leaving a foot-deep fire pit where my front jack buried the jack pad.
Great event - kept me busy for three days and it will take two weeks for me to work off the great food (my doctor will never know). Thanks to your staff and the Division 4 staff for doing all they could to make my job easier. Party on! |

Check out our new YELLOW track scrape machine. Only problem is that it uses the rear plastic to do the job. Maybe we can bolt on some steel blades...

Ya know, these kind of races wouldnt happen if its not for the people you have there. I really dont remember how many times I heard "Thanks for being here. ", and I know that when the whole teams wants to do the best, your kind of results will follow. I will come back. Thank YOU !

Pat,
That's the most fun I've had in a long time. Unbelievable bite, great competition, great party, clean restrooms and a friendly, helpful staff. Even the Division 4 NHRA crew thanked me for coming and supporting the race. I'd have a freakin' heart attack if I was ever treated that good in Division 2. Anyway, if you love class racing, you gotta go to this race because there really is nothing else like it. Craig Couris |

Pat,
I believe that the large turnout has shown how the great work that you have done is now paying dividends. If it weren't for the numerous endorsements of this event from other racers, Paul and I probably would not have considered going. Now this race will have very high priority when we plan our race schedules in the future. You and the track staff did a great job all weekend and the Division 4 crew was very friendly. We enjoyed visiting with our Div 2 friends and making new friends from Div 4 and other Divisions too. The track was well prepared, the racing was awesome and the CIC race was a blast. THANK YOU and the NPR team for making a race like this possible...we can't wait to geaux back! Mark Berg I/S 2665 |

Pat, We had a great time and a lot of fun.
Thanks for letting us run Top Stock on Thursday, I apologize for not getting it run on time. I found out it is very difficult to get everybody headed in the same direction. I don't see how you do it, Pat. We will see you there next year! Larry |

Pat,
Great job by you and all your track personnel all weekend......except for the guy who did not know the Perfectly Stange program! I'm sure he even did a good job except for not knowing that! The CIC race was the coolest race I've ever been in! The weather and conditions were perfect for racing......just adding to the success of this event! |
