Red face Motorplex

Winds are HIGH in the Ennis area today gusting to over 40 MPH !! Supposed to calm down some tonight but not sure about tomorrow as another cold front is headed that way
How many bent up races will there be after this race is over ??? I think in '07 there were six, mainly from hitting the brakes on the top end. I know Leon Philpot crashed his D/SA Corvette and I forget the others.
Not sure id it was the same year ,but one Mustang hit the brakes at the top end and changed lanes hitting Mike Braswell's H/SA Nova wagon sending it tumbling ! Pictures of that on Mike's website www.mr57.com under wreck.
Out of the groove at the Motorplex ?? GET OFF OF THE THROTTLE........ :-)

I think the main problem at the Motorplex is that the entire track is concrete, so you cannot get out of the groove over there. I was sitting in the stands when one of the wrecks occured that was mentioned in the opening post, and wind was not a factor in that mishap. My advice is to stay in the groove and don't slam on the brakes. Lets all hope for calm winds and safe race this weekend.

Angry Re: Motorplex

I guess Billy Meyer HATES spectators !!!
On Friday they started qualifying & time trials at 9 AM.....OK.....BUT THE TICKET BOOTH AND SPECTATOR GATE DIDN'T OPEN UNTIL NOON !!! And when the ticket booth opened the people inside either didn't know what they were doing or their computer was fouled up !! It took the first guy in line over TEN MINUTES to get his ticket !!
So before any spectators could get in they had run one round of qualifying & time trials for Stock,Super street,Sportsman M/C,Super Gas,Super Stock,Super Comp and were about halfway thru the second session for Stock !!
We even went to the competitors gate and they wouldn't budge on letting us in !! And I called and the gal that answered the phone apparently didn't have a clue and said "it's only time trials" !! The WHOLE DAMN DAY WAS TIME TRIALS !!! And she wasn't impressed that we sat in the parking lot for all most THREE HOURS !!
And on Saturday they weren't going to open thw spectator gates until ELEVEN AM even tho' qualifying & time trials were starting at NINE AM !! But they moved it up to 9 AM.....BECAUSE THEY CHANGED the schedule because of a weather forecast !! They ran one round of time trials for everyone and then went into Eliminations! Then ran Elimination until they were finished after TWO AM SUNDAY MORNING !!!
Billy Meyer has gotten the last cent he's going to get from me.....unless things change DRASTICALLY !!
This whole thing was ABSURD !!

I don't think he cares much for sportsman racers either. I'm told he calls us "campers".
