A friend of mine, Doug Potter, took this photo at Bristol, Tennessee in 1968. I remember seeing Livingston's "Custom Boats" cars at Atlanta Dragway in the seventies. I still see his name once in a while entered in a race.

Wayne,
John still races regularly down here in Div.2 with a Stocker and a SuperStocker. Terry Earwood drives for him also. Jim

That car was a twin to the Mr. 4 Speed car my dad built the same year. They went to Detroit and picked them up at the same time. John and my dad decided to go Funny Car racing with the Ramchargers old Funny car. Ask John about that sometime. On May 26 1967 the funny car was involved in an accident at Union Hill in Nashville, they immediatly ordered 2 1967 SS cars and went back to real racing. If you ever want good entertainment if you ever see Herb McCandless and John Livingston in the same area you can bet some of the best stories you ever heard will be told.
Ask John about the time he had to use the restroom real bad on a one lane bridge. Herb McCandless Jr Last edited by herbjr; 05-11-2009 at 02:15 PM. |
