Merry Christmas everyone...
Sure this will get some mixed reactions, but here is my reasoning. With AHRA signing some tracks, and picking up some steam, I hope they can help the overall state of sportsman racing. Trying to be positive here! We have seen a ton of post on here about the need to get more people in S-SS etc. Best start is to give all the opportunity to race and take part! That is why I ask them to include crate motors... While some argue that crate motor is not really stock, I think most all agree that we need to support and grow our sport. I have raced both traditional stockers and crate motor cars. Have been racing NHRA and IHRA for over 20 years now in several classes, mostly 10.90 and stock. I want to have the opportunity to race, and really do not care if it starts with N or I or A, or even local S=SS races... Just love to race. I enjoy working on my cars, and tweaking a stocker does not make a difference between a crate motor or my 67 Pontiac 400 motor... all take time, money and same skills. I sent Troy Moe, CEO of AHRA an email, and ask him to share it with proper people, since all web site is not up and not all emails work yet. I got a quick thank you note back from him, and he told me he would forward to rules committee and proper people. Troy Moe email is troym@ahradragracing.com . I am not giving up on anyone, just want more places to race. If you want to help others with this opportunity, please send him a quick email. Lets pray for a great New Year! Ken |
