Default 82-84 crossfire injection camaro or corvette..

has anybody past or present ran one in stock or super stock and to what level of sucess? any particular quirks worth noting about them.. i know they were complained about in their day but with todays computer engine management i don't see why one wouldn't work just fine.. just kinda daydreaming about one of these cars as a stock combo.. ( is it a bad thing that when i see a car one of the first things i think about is how good of a class car it would make?)

I have not looked up the NHRA HP factor but in my opinion, they better be modest. I had an 83 Camaro enginw with one of these. The intake ports on the manifold were the size of wheat chex. The corvette manifold is bigger. I think the TBIs are small on both. I have heard that the rock crawler guys love that intake with the twin TBIs for the torque and ability to climb straight up without flooding.

doesn't look like they get it much softer than any other 305's ..mostly combos are in the 12.00 lb 250 hp range.. doesn't look like one would fair well over a QJ combo

Several years ago I had an E-mail exchange with Woodro J. about this same camaro combo ( i own an original 82 Z-28 w/ 30,000 miles w/ cross fire) woodro told me he also considered it but Chevy engineers told him he would have a hard time making more than 245 hp. ( i would have to check and see if i still have the e-mail copy ,but i am reasonably sure those are the figures he told me)
