Pat Joffrion just came by here and wanted us to post that there is a schedule change for tomorrow. There is bad weather moving in to here tomorrow evening, so they are going to start running eliminations on Saturday. The CIC race has been cancelled and they are going to run eliminations until the weather comes. The actual schedule should be available on DRC, so be sure and check with them. If I hear an actual schedule, I will post it here.

I cannot control the weather, but I can do something to help the racers. Everyone will get one time trial in the morning, then we will try to run as many rounds as we can get in before the rain sets in Saturday evening.
I have plenty of gas and a good jet dryer for Sunday, but that will not help many of the racers parked on grass (that gets soft in the rain). If we can get in two rounds on Saturday, 75% of the racers would have an opportunity to leave before the rain moves in on us, and we can move those racers still in competition onto higher ground or aspfhalt.. If we did nothing, and just followed the planned schedule, many of the racers would be held over until Monday, and a dozen or more would have to be towed out of thier pits. A lot of racers have to be back at work on Monday, and I made the decision to cancel the CIC and King of the Bayou events on Saturday in order to accomodate the majority of the racers. In order to avoid this in the future, I am contemplating holding an ALL-RUN Stock/Super Stock CIC race on Thursday, during our track test-n-tune hours. That way, we can get qualifying runs in on Friday, and run class eliminations on Saturday. I really like treating the crowds of fans to the CIC race format, and I don't like the fact that the weather conditions messed us up this year. Hopefully, Mother Nature will cooperate in the future. Besides, it may be more fun for the class racers to compete in an all-run format. Pat |

I assume this time trial doesn't count towards qualifying because the ladder is already out. Was this time trial already scheduled before the schedule change? If so, why doesn't it count towards qualifying? Just curious as it looks like there are a few people who might like to change their place on the ladder. ![]() -Toby |

This was a great move by Pat. The weather forecast for tomorrow looks pretty bad so anybody that makes it through the two rounds scheduled for today at least knows they have a check coming. I wish we had someone with this kind of foward thinking in division three.Hats of to you Pat.

Toby,
The ladder is set after the first round of class eliminations. SS/HA was the only class that did not run their class until this morning. The extra run for stock and all other SS cars was just a time-trial, because all others had run their first round of class. Talk in the pits is to run the CIC race on Thursday of next year, with qualifying runs on Friday, and class eliminations on Saturday. That way, in the event of a bad weather forecast, we can award class to the fastest qualifier; start the elimination rounds early, and avoid holding the racers over until Monday. Pat |

Toby, I'm going to count the runs made this morning in the stats.
Pat, it doesn't matter to me cause i see all the numbers Monday but i did notice that Rd 1 of SS or Stock just showed the winners only, thought this was a National event where they usually post rd 1 of eliminations on DRC. But you can go to www.1320go.com and see all the runs . Last edited by Nitro Joe Jackson; 03-20-2010 at 05:51 PM. |

Hey DRC (drag race central)
What's up with the crappy coverage from Belle Rose? No round detail in S/SS like normal national event coverage. Just round winners. Or don't they consider this a real national event since it is for sportsman only. Whoever is reporting can manage to post the bike details. ![]() |

Well, IMO, all runs at a national or divisional event should count towards qualifying. The only time you should have time trials is if the event is rescheduled. Time trials are for test-n-tune day.
Just because class has already been run doesn't mean you can't have another qualifier or is that a rule I don't know about? What if somebody shows up on Saturday? Is tech closed on Saturday? I like the idea of qualifying runs on Friday and class eliminations on Saturday. That way class will be the the last pass before eliminations. Another question, if the ladders are already set, why not just go straight into eliminations instead of giving everybody a time trial? Time trials are for the .90 classes, not stock/super stock. ![]() -Toby Last edited by Toby Lang; 03-20-2010 at 06:23 PM. |

I dont care if the run counts or your on the bottom of the sheet. I'M GLAD TO SEE A TRACK OWNER DO SOMETHING POSITIVE FOR THE RACER. Yes 75% of the racers will be beat first and second round. That is a very good move and I live 900 miles away and have always wanted to go to this race due to the way racers get treated. Track ops take notes.
