Go to your local discount auto store, tell them you have a '92 Civic and get the best quality level they sell. It weighs around 15 pounds. I ran this in my 390 AMX D/S car and never had problems. I had two fully charged. After time runs I would swap to a fully charged one. Then would put a full charge on the replaced one. Depending on how far I went in eliminations I would swap onle last time.
Cheap and good for a 15 pound weight drop. I've tried the Odyssey batteries and was not happy. After that, you step up to the expensive batteries.

I have been happiest with the "Rock" brand battery I have used the last 3 seasons. It is 24lbs. It runs the fan and watrer pump. It holds up really well. It was a few bucks. I think around 175, but it has turned out to be a good buy. I have also a light weight Braille Battery. It is 15 lbs and works ok. Not as good for going rounds, but good for saving weight in class. I heard DEKA makes the braille batteries.
I got my ROCK battery from Tim Ryherd at the CARSHOPINC. 800 603 4359 They support class racers and have great prices too. Worth calling for sure.

Ooops! My mistake. I meant to say Optima batteries, not Odyssey batteries.
I bought one of the Performance V 12V / 16V batteries as part of my SS conversion along with an ICE ignition system. Haven't finished the car so right now I can't report any findings. Someday... ![]()

I have just exchanged a 35 month old Optima for a new one. Went out one morning and it was stone dead. Free replacement up to 36 months. 31.7 lbs. Great replacement warranty anyway.

I keep a cheap Wal-Mart battery charger that does a floating charger on my Optima, have the same battery for over 5 years, and I got used from a friend who was tired of "overpriced Optima Batterys" that would'nt stayed charged in his 4X4 that would set for 6 months at a time.
They are heavy though
