Winch it in.... It isn't running yet... But do plan to winch when its running... Mack

Same as Doug. We drive it in, and then climb out of the driver's window.

Before we got it running we winched it in, but it is so much easier to drive it in, that is what we do now.

A properly positioned street-side trailer door would help. But that would be an expensive consideration if the current trailer didn't have one.

Since I'm way too fat to drive anything in except a top loading Sherman Tank, I get a skinny guy to do it, and I watch real close as that thing is wide. Doug is a skinny guy.

I didn't comment on your winching your car in after it gets running. I did try to picture you getting in and out, for a minute, and then said, yep. Winching it is the smart move.You are a big guy, and most of it is heart! Thanks again for your help. But a guy your size winching it in, makes all of the sense in the world.

Once I drop about 25 more pounds, I will slip in and out that window like a cat on catnip. But right now I just sort of squim in and out like a short pudgy earth worm. Drooze actually gets in better than I do though the window taking the car out, but it is a lot of fun watching him try to get out that way when he puts it away.

call the trailer manufactor it may not be that expensive. Back in the late 80's when i bought my first enclosed trailer it did not have the driver side door, i was going to sell it because i disliked it so much. My friend suggested i call haulmark, and they sold me the complete door kit for $225.00, my friend and i installed it in one day. It may be worth the call.

Thanks everyone. The dakota is a slim 69.4 wide which is easy to drive on in and squeeze out the door. Challenger is 75.7 with doors that seem like they are 4 feet long. Amazingly, it is a bit thinner than my 70 challenger which is 76.1. Good idea on the door, Vintage's door is 13 inches off the floor which leads us to another measurement! Duke's of Hazard style entry and exit will keep with the 70's theme......I will pass on the flying hood slide though!
