Default NSCA at Atco this weekend

Don't forget, The NSCA will be at Atco this weekend with their fast "Street" cars and the stars of the last event- Stock and Super Stock.
The Division Three guys came out in force and put on a great show for all the fans who attended.
You can arrive on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. The track runs a T/T on Friday evening, you will get a open time session on Sat morning and three qualifing shots on Sat. If you plan on coming for Sunday only, get there early as we may need to move the Sunday qualifier up alittle if the is a big overall car count in order to insure the event is finished before curfew.

Hey Tony, any chance of a sponsor to get the Hemi Shootout at a future event? Maybe SS /A,B,C cars at B weight for a Top SS race? See you on Saturday.

Tony,
I think it would be great to have a TOP/SS race at one of the NSCA events. I would like to see how many of the current NSCA racers can fit the TOP/SS rules to add to the pool of competitors of TOP/SS for the event. I would like to hear from your racers on this site or on topssracing.com or call me.if they would like to compete in TOP/SS races if held at an NSCA event.
Thanks Dick Butler

Good Luck at Atco.

Dick, what he was saying, bring in the regular cars that run Top SS, none of the cars that run NSCA could run Top SS.
Top SS is NHRA Super Stock cars. which in NSCA would only be in our Jegs SS/Stock Combo.

Dont change the rules to let cars that would not pass NHRA SS rules run Top SS just to see car count.

Thanks Joe
I understood the idea of "bringing in" the current TOP/SS NHRA cars to a meet but was curious if "any" of the current cars running at the NSCA events might have a more SS legal motor they could use to run in the TOP/SS class too. The more (legal SS cars) the merrier. There are some great Nostalgia SS cars running these events and it would be great to have them consider joining TOP/SS in the future by possibly returning to a SS legal type motor or combination.
We will discuss the possibilities next week.
Thanks Joe.

Tony or Joe, Hello guys . I was just looking over the rules for the BES Pro Comp class and see you now allow Fuel Injection in the class. This is a great move on your part. Would our IHRA Top Stock cars be legal in this class now ? If so would this scenario be correct :

364 ci ls1 with OEM # 241 head casting , sheet metal intake with any internal mods, in a 2001 Firebird = 2800lbs base weight + 16lbs for extra ci =2816 + 9lbs for sheet metal intake = 2825lbs is this correct ?

Thanks
Bo Kenney
No. If I'm not mistaken, the LS1 cylinder head has a 15 degree valve angle so it's 7.8lbs to 360 cubes which would give you 2808 plus 4 lbs for the additional 4 cubes which would yield 2824 + 73 lbs for the sheet metal (.2lbs per cube) = 2897 but we're giving the LSx and Ford Modular engines a 100lb weight break in our heads up classes this year so your final weight would be the flat 2800 lb minimum if you're running a 10.5 tire and a three speed automatic.
