Anyone have any thoughts on the effectiveness of the heatsink style of transmission oil coolers vs the conventional tube and fin or plate styles?

If you're Talking about the B&M canister or Shogun finned tank, You cant beat the fact that you have 3 to 4 more quarts of fluid to absorbe and dissipate heat.........Since I'm in hi gear .3 off the line, I have a canister[heat sink ] AND a double pass fan cooled trans cooler. .....Hot lapping , I rarely see more than 200 deg trans temp. ......Tom

I have been using the B&M canister for more than 5 years w/o any trans issues.
