Gainesville. With less than 6 days to go. Only 36 Superstockers entered. I hope nhra is happy (they have more pit space)
Looks like nhra is trying hard to compete with Ihra. When they ran class in both Stk and SS 120 cars each and full, well before the end. I wonder if the sponsors that didn't want to pay for singles will be happy when there are only a couple of cars in the eliminator?

I'm just guessing, but it seems like NHRA is running themselves into a dead end. The economy is down, sponsors are few, so intelligent plans should be put into action. I could be wrong but it's playing out like a kid with no business sense taking over daddy's business and running it into the ground without a care or a clue.

Lets say they wind up with 50 cars. Thats $9150 less they take in. If they ran class if the trophies cost them $100 each. They could give one to every car in the eliminator and still be ahead.
Without class Gainesville is just a glorified expensive points meet.

"Maybe the NHRA has found the limit that spectators and sportsman racers will pay to watch or participate"
http://www.dragracingonline.com/agen...xiii_2-53.html Interesting story
