Question NC tornados

With all the tornados reported in NC, including Sanford and Raleigh, I couldn't help but wonder and pray that everyone, including racers, are ok. The Tim Sloan & family are in Sanford.

One of the tornados missed the dealership I work at in Dunn,N.C. by about an eighth of a mile but wiped out a mobile home park (according to news reports there were several fatalities in the trailer park)

3rd hand Facebook report said that the Sloans are ok. Said it missed their shop, but the town has been without power, so they've been staying in the motorhome for the time being. Missed Matt Zapp in Benson, and missed The Legend by a few miles I think he said. Here in Seagrove, about an hour west of Sanford, it the barn door was blown open and that was it.

Was told today at Piedmont:
Bob Harris said Sloans were o.k.
Donald Webb said Arnold Smith got hit hard. He is the owner of Steve Taylors old NATURAL HIGH Super Stock Nova. The Smith Family lost their farm, the house, Race car pretty much everything. Was told the tornado picked up car trailer. The trailer went one direction and car another. They found a 55 gallon drum of alky in a tree.
The Thomas family said Jim Jackson got hit too. He is a long time racer from Rowland N.C.
Fort Bragg was closed to the public also.
There was a funnel cloud spotted a couple miles from here but nothing touched down. We were very Lucky. There was lots of Damage all around us.

It was bad all over parts of NC. My wife who works in insurance is still taking claims.
We had campers, trees, and even a Lincoln Navigator flown through the air and landed upside down.

We were talking to a client in Sanford who said that it was really wild watching the riding lawn mowers being hurled through the Lowes Store.

Most of us are really lucky.

We were lucky, my house, my dads house were ok, my brother had a tornado touch down on his road about 5 houses up, uprooted trees, lost power for 6 hours but no major damage other than a few cars. I have 2 100 year old plus trees in my yard, I'm thinking about having them taken out, at least the one in the back.

Sorry to read about the Smith's, glad they are okay physically. Sad to read about the old 'Natural High' Nova, saw them race it a few times at Kinston recently, still had the same paint as when Steve raced it a couple of decades ago. Always was a fun car to watch-
