I currently use a Turbo Action shifter. I have a bad habit of shifting to N at the stripe and the lockout handle is close enough to the main T handle that I sometimes shift to R. I know I'm a dumb ***, so you don't need to tell me whai I already know. Is there a shifter that is more idiot proof than the Turbo Action? I'd like to extend the space between the 2 handles and I've tried to call Turbo Action, but haven't gotten an answer.
I've looked into a clean neutral VB, but TCI doesn't have any and doesn't know when they will make more. The Griner VB requires the trans brake to be functional and I run foot brake stuff. |

I use the hurst shifter with a reverse lockout, easy to go to neutral from third but cant go to reverse without hitting a lever. Used it on a 400, then a 350 and now the metric. The lever is out of the way and you can not hit it by accident.

If it is this one, the answer is no. Once you are in neutral, you push the small lever forward, and then move the handle to neutral/park.

Ron, the one I have takes two hands but that is my routine, could probably due it with one hand but you still would have to let go of the shifter or have a really long thumb.
It is not the quarter stick. It is a pistol grip...and it is my way of KISS. Both Jegs and summitt sell them.

Hurst QuarterStick, front exit cable. Hurst QuarterStick II, rear exit cable. Simple, effective, reliable, safe.

Best shifter I have owned. Fool proof and yes you can get the clean neutral. Simple, light and never fails. |
