Default Fuel Line covering to reduce heat

What are you guys/gals using to prevent heat buildup near fuel lines? What are you using to cover fuel lines?

Your help would be appreciated.

I've been using the poly insulation you can buy at the home improvement big box stores, looks like rollbar padding but smaller. It's pre-split, conforms to the fuel lines easily, and I can cover it with duct tape to keep it in place.

I guess I should explain that I'm still using a mechanical pump, so the line from there to the regulator and carb aren't that close to headers.

Sorry for any confusion!

My neighbour is an insulator and he gave me a roll of asbestos that they use for wrapping high temperature pipes. It is sort of like split loom and I use stainless tyraps to hold it on. It has a coating on it so no fibres come off.
You can lay it right on a header and it is cool on the other side.

Thanks guys for your interest in this topic!

I was thinking along the lines of the poly wrap from the big box stores but the stuff looks like what bracket racers use for roll bar padding.AND I have seen what fire does to that stuff.

As for asbestos, well I'm not going there...thanks anyways.

Bickel and Rick Jones sell a wrap which needs to be used when your braided lines and fittings are made.

Any other suggestions?
