Does anyone have any idea how fast a 307 with a 2 barrell would run in a 68 chevelle set up for stock eliminator. It looks like the index is 13.40 and to be competitive you need to run under by about a second. I have the original 307 for my car but I feel as though this may be a waste of time if I can not get to run 12.99 or faster with it.

IMHO that has to be the worst Chevy combo in the books. 68 motor is factored to 195 hp, I have a 72 Nova 307 factored at 175 hp and it's not good. If you could get the factor reduced to 175 on the early motor and get it into T or U/SA it would be better against the index but it still would be a poor choice. Look at 327/250 combo for your Chevelle.
