Boise Test and Tune Report
11 PM and just got back from a great steak supper with good friends Norm Lapoint and Larry Klatt. Conditions at Boise were slow with the air averaging about 5700 feet DA. I ran good today but broke a gear set in the last run. Fortunatly I have another set and 2 hours later we're ready for tommorow qualifying. I ran 1.16 under and my wife Charlene ran 1.12 under in her Malibu. On a side note I am really impressed with Rob Youngblood's new 7 inch dual disc clutch. With out a word of a lie and not to be biased, but this clutch flat out is fast. I thought the 10 inch clutch was fast but his new 7 inch dual disc is even faster. (You should see his dual 6 inch) Only a few racers ran the test and tune day. Steve Wann is running a E/SA Mopar. I would also like to thank the News who operate Boise's track for offering the use of their shop to get out the hot sun to fix my car. Class act. Traction was great today. We didn't run until about 2 PM today so I'm hoping tommorow morning's conditions are faster. All we can do is hope.
