I used to live in Augusta, bout 8-10 miles from track. There was a resturant downtown, The Town Tavern, very good back in the day, however, haven't been there for a long time. Hope to see you in Jackson. Butch |

Jim,
I have always stayed in Aiken (18 miles). Not on interstate, several National chain motels on Whiskey Rd. Many of the chain resturants (Applebees, Ruby Tuesday, Ryans, etc). Now, at the track, you have to try the fried baloney on white bread. See you there. Tom |

Jim, there's acres of nice grass and a few shade trees, in other words it's dog friendly. Won't have my new ride by this weekend for sure but plan to come up and lend a hand as needed...the area is nice too for us South Georgia/Florida 'flat-landers', there are actual hills! I really liked the track just based on my only visit about 3 years ago.

Butch, we were talking about the Town Tavern earlier today. Unfortunately, it has been closed for a number of years. We used to go there at least once a week. My favorite on the menu was "Joe Suggests".

Very nice track.
Great people that run it. IHRA double divisional. Chicken Wings are good too. I can think of lots of other reasons to go but that should get us started. I will be there Friday. Chip Johnson |
