How about a thread with early Chevy II's? '65's are my favorite all time cars, I had a bunch of them in the eighties. This is one of my favorite Super Stockers.

My first new car was a 1965 Chevy II Nova with 327 4 speed that I purchased in 1965. I went into the Army in Nov 1965 so in 1967 I drove it up to Alaska were I was stationed . Here is a photo of it up in Alaska back then.

Wow, I never saw the " Homework" Chevy 11 before, Danny. Any idea who owned it? Do you have any pics of Bob Nicholsons old SS/KA yellow 65 Nova wagon from BC? He was runner up in S/S at what I believe was the very first NHRA Fallnationals at SIR in the mid 70s. Bob runner upped to Margret Glembokis "Color Me Silver" 69 Camaro.

Mt Hood Community College had three race cars, the Nova super stocker, a Camaro stocker and a Corvette stocker. That explains the 'Homework' names. Oh the good old days before liability insurance...
For the record, Craig Bloom (Eastco Machine) currently owns the Camaro. I did see the Nove being bracket raced a few years later but don't know where the either the Nova or Corvette ended up. Jim Caughlin SS 6019 |
