Some of the regulars not on the sheet but maybe they just didn't make it there in time (or saw the forecast which makes Saturday eliminations kinda iffy with a more likely use of Sunday as the rain date). Also looks like a few went to St Louis and there aren't as many D1 cars as you'd expect (saving for Maple Grove back-to-back races?). Think some predicted when the schedule came out that Bristol is a long haul for some D2 racers and diesel is still hovering around $4.

Hope Reynolds does well, Ed and Dorothy are great folks to race with.

I was thinking the same thing when I looked at the sheet on DRC. Bad location for a D-2 points race. Bad timing with a national close by too.

Way to far for me to go from Tampa with the cost of fuel. I would loose money if I won the race.

I will be at silver dollar in a couple of weeks. Love that track. They always meet you at the gate with a smile and a goodie bag.
We have lots of racing coming up here in florida. 2 SSSSA races to finish out that season and the open at Gainsville at the end of november plus the points race in Reynolds. Got to pick and choose.

there aren't many cars herw this weekend. I'm figuring the rain ran everyone off. we have had 3 rain delays and we had one when SS was in the lane! besides the rain its really cool and pleasant here. the air has been around 2500-3300. i know all of the stick cars 60fts are wayyyy off...i don't know about the automatic guys! Everyone has 2 rounds of qualifying and there working on a 3rd round now.

Not a thing wrong with Bristol for a Division 2 points race, not at all.

However, scheduling it directly against the St. Louis national event was not a good idea. That is the biggest problem, since the St. Louis event has a lot of Kentucky and Tennessee racers, among others.

I hope the bad car count because of poor scheduling (Rich may not have had a choice) does not kill the event for us. Hopefully, next year, they'll have the Bristol points race on a weekend with no conflict.

They need to move Reynolds back to the 3rd weekend in October, the car count seemed to be better then.

Not too many cars but the stuff here is beautiful and mostly fast.

Not sure why they didn't try to put this race last weekend against Dallas national instead of this weekend against St. Louis. Definitely that is a factor in the S/SS classes.

The crappy forecast didn't help for the more local crowd. It rained three times yesterday but we worked around it, raining now but looks like the forecast is upgraded for later today and should clear off so we get it in tonight. I hope so because my 12 hour drive to Florida will suck no matter what.

There were more cars at Columbus last weekend than Bristol and St. Louis combined. Personally I like the Sportsnational format much better than National events and evidently so do a lot of other folks. We need a sports national race in every division.

100% right on.

As it is now those in D-1 and other divisions are left out of this. Granted there are a fair number of opens in d-1(atco, Napierville, MG)

Would be a good way to get tracks an event that don't get a divisional, open, or national event. Numidia would be an a great choice for D-1. The elevation would help with guys being able to run all out which is always nice.

Eric

Rich has put on D2 FB that they are done for the day....hopefully Stephen or somebody will post if it's because of all the rain and rubber pulling up on the track....suppose to pick up where they left off at 8:00 Sunday morning.
