http://www.found-sm-duster.com/part1.html
This guy claims to have found a Sox and Martin 71 Duster. The following is a quote directly from Buddy Martin. WE DID NOT BUILD A 71 DUSTER FOR RONNIE OR HERB SECOND WE NEVER EVER SOLD REID WHISANT A RED WHITE AND BLUE DUSTER NOR A RED WHITE AND BLUE DODGE TRUCK. Signed, Buddy Martin After saying that, Herb McCandless, Buddy Martin, Dave Christie, or Chic Denino do not endorse this car in any way. There is no much wrong with it and this guy is trying to screw someone by selling this car as something it isnt!!!!! Thanks, Herb McCandless Jr |

Henry Grubb just called me and said he was the origional owner of this car, he ran it in Modified and match raced it some. The only sox and martin part on the car was the Carburators.
Does anyone remember that name, I'm not old enough. Herb Jr |

Herb, Henry did have a Duster he raced back in California in the late 70's/early 80's IIRC, I recall the car being blue or purple at the time though.

How many tubs of bondo, how many panels can be replaced? If a few bolts are original is it OK? Is a replacement body in the white, with no rust, better than the original shell that is rusted away below the door handles? It is too bad that sellers aren't honest in representing what was done to "restore" a car.
"I have an original hammer from Pres. Abe Lincoln. The head has been replaced twice, and the handle, three times." This time it looks like a seller is making up everything about his car, and attaching a pedigree that doesn't exist. |

Reminds me of the Ray Allen 70 LS-6 conv. that sold at BJ for over a million, the owner later found out it was in a towing accident. I have a 70 LS-6 htop that I've owned since 71 after seeing that I thought I hit the jackpot, the next year the market dropped over 30 points. Every year there seems to be 10 LS-6's on BJ all # match blah blah. Buyer Beware!. gsa612
