Default Corvette in R

I saw that an 81 Corvette 350 was in R at Columbus Jeg's sportnationals. As I look at the classification guide, I don't understand how it can run in R. Can somone help me understand? What am I missing?

R with a circle around the R? That means record attempt.

I'm sure they just didn't change Jim's vehicle in the listing. I'm guessing, he was running his truck.

The fact that NHRA can't tell a truck from a Corvette explains a lot.

Thumbs down Re: Corvette in R

They do this crap all the time! If they paid more than $3.50 and hour for the computer input guy this might not happen at every race! Jim

To quote Lily Tomlin, when she would do her telephone operator skit, "We don't care, because we don't have to".

Sometimes it is the fault of the person inputting data from the tech cards, but sometimes it isn't. I've seen quite a few tech cards with no car info or inconclusive car info on them, and I've seen a few with the wrong car info on them.

Sometimes the just put the drivers name in and use previous info. Not because they dont care usually because they have 500 tech cards and 30 minutes to do it.
