Default Cobra Jet BIW build

I must say thank you to:
My Wife Allison, Scott Barker, Stephen Lackey, Ernie and David Neal, Jesse Kershaw, Mike Smytke, Brian Wolfe, My brothers Jeremy and Andrew, Jason Antko and a whole lot more people.

In 2008, I found myself drooling over Fords reintroduced Cobra Jet Mustang. I'm happy to say that fantasy is becoming a reality. On September 14th I was able to pick up my serialized BIW competition kit from Ford Racing Performance Parts. I ordered the Kit from Mike at diversified products(BuyFordRacing) and couldn't be happier. I ordered the kit with Cobra Jet seats on 4/20/12.

There were 20 of the 2013 BIW Competition kits purchased. We were the 2nd team to pick ours up. When asked what serial number I wanted when they were labling the cars I requested #73. Lots of numbers wen through my head but I chose 73 in honor of Bob Gliddens 1st professional win. I know I know everyone knows all the history of the Hoosier(Who also raced a CJ at one time in SS). However, some significance to me is that the first win was the US Nationals(My home track and where I made first pass ever in the lane that now hangs the sign naming it in honor of Glidden), with an elapse time in the 9.0s at 152(pretty close to what the stock 2013 SCJs run). Glidden won the event 9 times and 15 Final round apperances(13 straight)

I've been busy since our pick up. So I just got a chance to post some Photos of the project. There will be some thurough write-ups on project but for now Like us on Facebook http://www.facebook.com/pages/Daniel...25886327426822

Thanks guys.

I'm naturally in a good mood and smiling but I've been on cloud 9 since I've began putting the whole project plans together. (You wouldn't think that actually there I was just starting to recover from the Flu)

My brother is going to be doing some write ups on the whole project. From build, prep, paint, testing, maintenance and budget items. This will be for guys wanting to start racing in class, building a race car and people wanting to race/build their own CJ. I think it would be good for the sport and for those thinking about giving it a shot.

We are doing all the chassis, cage, tuning and paint work. So that keeps cost down outside man hours but should be able to factor that for those who cant do it on their own. I'm still deciding on which manual transmission to run but getting closer on that choice. We'll be working in the CJ tonight so ill try to get a few more photos put up.
