Will the 2013 racing season be better, the same, or worse than last year. Will racers feel good about going racing or do you think people will be cutting back. I think its an exciting time, and like every year, I can't wait until the race season starts. I know things are not perfect in our sport, but I still get that feeling like its my first time at the track. I can’t wait to get to the races when the new season starts.
How about some thoughts on what you think the race season will bring this year. New winners? New Champions? New Cars? New Racers? |

I don't know about that Ken, but we are trying our best to go back to see our Cajun buddies at No Problem for the Cajun Sportsnationals! It is worth the trip! Probably only race I gain weight at! I blame Dave "CrowDad" Crouchet! LOL!

I am certainly looking forward to the season, but I will be staying in the Northeast. Would love to go back to No Problem, but not this year. I really believe that the fields will be the same size as last year or smaller. I intend to support the ASRA and NHRA D1 in 2013, may only go to 1 national event. No new cars for me, upgrades on the two I own now.
It is always great to see new cars, but to me new racers, or racers that are back at it, really are the best part of a season for me.

For me this year will be exciting.
I made my first race in IHRA Stock last year and this year I will be entering my first race in NHRA Stock @ Bowling Green. (and possibly later in the year in NHRA Super Stock) Only took 30 years, so I'm a little late to the party. ![]()

I'm working on our 2013 S/SS Association schedule now. For what will be the last season ever for it, if things don't improve.

Myself I think I will be forced to cut back on my racing this year. The money just won't go as far anymore. I had a great time last year running both NHRA and IHRA races! Jim . .

Well, if we can just controll the bleeding untill we can get some help. I'm trying to do my part by working on a new entry. Let's just hope we don't loose any more of the great veteran racers that support and grew the racing to where it is today. I think in these tuff times we need to adjust the racing where ever possible, as to not make it easy for a racer to say "that's it, I'm done"! I think we will continue to see new cars with owners/builders that will use the approach "beg for forgiveness...rather than ask for permission" on the new builds. The only way we can keep it alive, is to support the different programs ourselves....there's no "next generation" behind us (except family members)

I was hoping for a much better year.
Got everything working together. Just some more planning and go !! However Tore Rotator Cuffs on both shoulders a few year ago. Now they are really bad and need surgury. Each will be 6 weeks to heal and 6 months full recovery. 3 month spread in between but have to do it. Should be ok by August or September.. Looks like less Weight Lifting and more Running to ward off Dun-Lop! Then there is my older Daughters Wedding .. OUCH!...They are expensive !! AND no money for a Dowery ![]() Well guess I will plan for 2014..got enough time now ! Dan |
