Fantastic turnout here!
If you've never done this, put it on your list!

Even though I consider myself a young man at 33, this is by far one of the coolest atmospheres that I have ever been in. Dad and I come every year. If you love classic cars and classic race cars, this is the place to be.

Nice talkin to you again Doug. This event should be on any racer/hot rod guy's bucket list. Big swap meet, car show, race, displays, shade in the pirts, covered bleachers, good PA, on and on. Even the food and drinks were reasonably priced. We found water being sold in a lot of places for $1.00 a lady in the swap meet area was selling soft drinks for a buck. You woun't find that at very many venues any more.

Talking Re: Bowling Green Hot Rods

Went down to spectate with a friend.Ran in to Tom Arnett after his morning run,and he ran us around for a while on his golf cart to see the show cars. The high lite of the event was when i got to sit in Bob Malones 60s era front engine dragster as he fired it up in the pits on 92% nitro.Boy what a experience.I can not imagine what it would be like to run a front engine blown car on nitro. We hung out with Tim Pogue from Texas who has the "Huslin Hoosier" 57 Chevy sedan deliveryJr stocker of Kyle Marshall .If you have not seen this car it is just like it was in the early 1970s before Kyle retired it,and put it away for a 40 year retirement ,and sold it a few years ago. Thanks to Tim for the hospitality. You got to put this race on your bucket list. There are more old Gassers at this event than any place else in the world!!! No Big Daddy there this year though. The rumour was he and NHRA had a disagreement after last years event..Hard to imagine someone having a problem with NHRA.LOL
