I remember the Village Smithy car very well. Back in the modified days I was crew chief for Ron Travia's A/SR. We had some killer A/SR cars back then with the likes of Ken and Neil Mahr. Anyway, we set the record at E-Town at a 9.13 and were in the teardown barn till 3am. The very next day the Village Smithy set it at a 9.11. We didn't have the record for 24 hours but I wouldn't trade those days for anything !
RIP "Village Smithy"
