Which racing seat would be the best one to install in a stocker? I notice that most racers are using the Kerkey seats. Is this just for looks or is there some reason why the poly seat wouldn't work just as well?

Kirkeys are lighter, stronger, and they look better than poly in my opinion.

X2. A friend had poly seats in his car and the insert area began tearing out after a season of racing. Most people would be very happy with Kirkey Pro Street seats. S&W Race Cars makes some real neat aluminum mounting brackets that work great in a Stocker.

the poly seats are fine as long as they are installed and braced properly. I have had them for years and they are very comfortable. I have mine thru-bolted to the floor not using the inserts and securely bolted to the roll bar at the back near where the shoulder harness attaches. There are lots of cars out there running the poly seats. The Kirkeys are a very nice seat and look great too.

I don't know how some of you guys are handling the change to the new seats but after measuring the fit for the Kirkeys I will have to move my entire roll bar because I am now more than the mandated 6 inches away from the top hoop. With the bench seat, which is much thicker, I was within the limit.
So I have to move the entire roll bar forward or wear high heels...and I'm not that good looking! JimR
