Super Stock@Pomona 1968-1969

Here we are in 2014 and the Winternationals at Parker Avenue is just days away. It got me to thinkin' how very, very, special and ultra intense Super Stock was at this race in those 2 years. The level of participation from some of the factories. The closed track testing before the race, the teams, the drivers, the inovations and saving the best for last, the new combinations.

I had been going to this race starting in 65, however the bulidup to these 2 openers sure seemed to be off the hook. The Cobra Jets, Darts and Cudas and all the rest made it intense. So remember the first runs in 68 with all the fans there super early to witness this awesome division with all those heavyweight names, priceless. How many of you were at these 2 events along with me, if so, you be a geezer!
