Has anyone raced with a VV carb? According to my specs I have to use a 2700 Motorcraft VV carb on my 77 302. Or, because it reads off a oxygen sensor and, being a feedback style carb is of sorts a computer-controlled unit, can I just use a traditional 2150?

I remember VV carb being vac controlled,I remember changing plenty of the diaphrams that controlled the variable venturi, sliding back and forth in top of carb.don't remember any electronic wiring going to those carbs, only wires I remember is choke and idle solenoid

One of the shops I used to work @, the owner told me that when they were working right they were a good gas mileage carb.

Joe , Get an early one and open the top flap and then tell me why you wouldn't want to use it.
BTW, ANY type of linkage for single or multiple carbs is acceptable with NHRA. What I'm saying is I wouldn't be dependent on a leak prone diaphragm if that's the case.
