Hi, folks!
I'm trying to figure out the quickest and fastest pass by a manually-shifted Super Stocker. I'm running into a wall because I don't even know what some of the "crossover" class cars from Modified use for a transmission. Taking the "big four", for instance, (Clegg, Gove, Galina and that pesky Carey Bales), I'm not sure if ANY of them are manuals. The question includes Libertys and other clutchless types. So, who is it? I honestly don't know. If I had to take a guess, I'd probably pick one of the SS/AH stick cars...and you probably know which one I'd pick. ![]() Last edited by Bret Kepner; 02-06-2014 at 09:05 PM. |

Carey in SS/DX 8.077 D3R1, but I don't think an S2000 is even in the classification guide?? Rick Houser with an 8.394 at the finals with Wescott power. Todd Patterson sometimes runs stick, not sure what he had at Topeka with the 8.107 SS/AM pass?
this is 2013 Nitro Joe's stats of course Ernie Neal SS 354 After researching DRC Patterson was running automatic for he was paired with another automatic competitor in the combo. Carey did run 7.96 at the US National the year before. I think it was on the rain out return weekend. Last edited by Ernie Neal; 02-06-2014 at 08:56 PM. Reason: more info |

Charlie Westcott Jr. set the SS/AH record at 8.22 at South Georgia Motorsports Park in Nov. 2010. The record stood for 2 years at which point it was retired by the NHRA and reset to a minimum. It is now held by Gary Wolkwitz at 8.28. Other than Bales, Gove, Clegg, Patterson, and Gallina; that is the fastest Super Stock manually shifted run that I am aware of.

John Gallina's car had an automatic transmission. To the best of my knowledge, it never had a stick.

Carey Bales has a Liberty in his car, so I believe it's the fastest.
