Syracuse-area Motorplex?

There was talk of a proposed racing facility (including drag strip) a few years back....

Location was south of Syracuse,NY...just off I-81....

Anything happen?

Good morning Mr. Wannabee,
As of today, the ground has been cleared and they are prepping to build an oval track made from composite rubbers instead of dirt. It's actually north of Syracuse at the exit for Central Square, N.Y. The original plan did include a drag strip, but there has been no talk(or anything else for that matter) regarding construction of it. The developer long ago made all sorts of talk about building a strip next door to the N.Y.S. Fairgrounds that never materialized either. Time will tell. The drag strip would be only about 10-15 miles away from E.S.T.A. Safety Park Drag Strip in Cicero, N.Y. that has been in existence since the 50's. That could be a game changer for them if the new strip was built. Someone else please chime in if they have more updated information.
