Hello all.
Wondering what the Lic requirements are to run SS, other then being a current NHRA member. We have a SS/HA car that we plan to run at Cecil Co Div 1 race this coming weekend. I was told earlier today that we need a NHRA 9.99 or quicker competition Lic to run the car. The car will run 10.20, so I was under the impression we didn't need the competition lic. So the question is do we or don't we? Cal S/ST HR 1177 |

The rule used to be if the record is 9.99 or quicker for the class you need a license.
Doubt if it has changed. |

Certain classes require the license. Regardless of cars ET, class record, etc. SS/AA- SS/AAA through SS/I-SS/IA require a license. Same with certain classes in GT and Modified classes. Any car that runs 9.99 or quicker needs a license as well, so some SS/JA drivers will have/need them as well (9.99-quicker require them in bracket racing as well.
