This promoter has interesting way to get the racers to help put people in the stands. the more people in the stands bigger the payout. people count not car count. just wondering what you guys think?
"As many of you may know, we are renting out Lee USA Speedway on Sunday, May 17 and Monadnock Speedway on June 13 and putting up some big money to the modified race teams. Obviously a race is not a success if fans do not attend, so we hope you will circle those dates on your calendar. And we'd like to announce our Challenge to race fans - If 3000 people pay to get in at Lee USA Speedway on Sunday, May 17 ( front and back gate) I will immediately write out an extra $5000 check to the winner, making the win worth $10,000. And if another 3000 show up at Monadnock Speedway on Saturday, June 13.... the same deal goes!!! So people, share this message with everyone you think is up to the challenge!!! Go ahead.. and make me pay!!!" Joey Dee |

Nothing new in that - basing the purse on the front gate was pretty standard at midwest circle tracks back in the sixties and seventies, though there were some events where the racers insisted that the promoter allow a racer representative to verify the head count.
