Is this in the works or coming soon? Curious on when NHRA will release the engine specs and HP factors. Anybody have any inside info they care to share?

Funny you should post that. A meeting is in progress at this moment. No details that I can post, but it's alive sorta like the Creature from the Black Lagoon or Godzilla.

Delivered 1, two more coming sold units. Lots of interest on both models.

With FSS/A at 5#/HP, that would give a weight of 5#/HP*707HP=3535 pounds. The 2011 V-10 DP is listed in the guide at 3375 pounds. I suppose they could "detune" the Hellcat to get a lower HP factor and lower weight for a DP.
I wish FCA would submit all the engine combos for the new Challengers and Chargers. They added the 5.7L Hemi, but are still missing the 6.1L, 6.4L and the V6s.

James, the 6.1 and 6.4 are in the book in Challenger bodies. If someone has an interest in a 6 cyl (which would be really neat), I can get the specs sent to NHRA. Also if there is interest in a Charger body, the specs are the same other than the body and a little heavier. The Helcats will evolve I think in the DP and Showroom configurations. The 5.7 runs all the years, the 6.1 stops in 2010 and the 6.4 starts later. I have not yet looked on the 15 models. Hope this helps.

Thanks Jeff. I guess I haven't looked at the guides in a while. They weren't in there at all for a few years. It looks like the 2010 has the best selection of engines available. My driver is a 2009 SE with the 3.5L V6. I would think it would do OK in the lower classes. They list the shipping weights at 3600 pounds for the non-DP V8 Challengers. I think they are closer to 4000 pounds in street trim, but I suppose there is 400 pounds of electronics and airbags and whatnot that would be removed in a Stocker.

Supposedly there will be 2 different 2015 Drag Paks. 1 N/A and one supercharged. Not really "Hellcat" engines, but badder. Rumor is the factory rating is 290 HP.
