I am replacing the cap/rotor/isolator on my optispark with MSD parts (P/N 84811).
The car has a crank trigger and is not using the opti electronics. Can I remove the electronic module and sensor wheel or just leave them in place? Also, can I eliminate the metal heat shield or leave it in place? Thanks, John |

The rotor is mounted on the code wheel and a thin spacer. Although the spacer is small, I think it is best to leave them in place.
You may also want to consider tack welding the optispark drive shaft to the rotor mounting. The phase is typically off due to the pressed parts turning on the shaft. DDD |
