Just got a call from the CA DOT and it's sort of important that you apply for an over-length permit. It was originally just for commercial vehicles but they've now got that changed for anyone including sportsman. Joe Bayless in the DOT office has gone above and beyond to get things changed and the least we can do is reciprocate by purchasing the trip permits which are only $16. We're always concerned with over-the-road legalities, at least now we have a state that's willing to work with us. We can only hope other states take notice.
