Phoenix FX tires on a heavy stick car
I would like some input on Phoenix fx tire on a heavy (3500#) stick car. I currently run M/T 10.5 w x 29.5 or 11.50 x29.5 with good results for approx 50 passes then they start to get inconsistent. I was thinking about trying the Phoenix FX tires, I know many super stock guys used the firestones years ago. Any input would be great

I hope I'm not hi-jacking this thread but, is there anything, other than baby power, to help with the tube not folding over or twisting during the slick install?

I do run tubes in the M/T tires I have tried them tubeless with no change in ET for me and they leak bad even with all the tricks (soap etc.).
Baby powder has worked the best for me when mounting. I tried silicon lube once that was a bad idea. Thanks Dirk |

Try some Hoosiers. They seem to last longer and more consistent longer than the M/T tire I was using. There is not many class racers running the phoenix tire these days. Mike Crutchfield is the man when it comes to Phoenix tires. Let me know if you need his e mail address.
