For the first time (ever I think),due to surgery, I was not able to go to Tulsa, ( Austin was in NE) and sure enough, something went wrong. A tranny line broke in the water on the last Q run. Mike & Heather were both on the phone with me as we were frantically trying to come up with a quick fix. As it turned out, due to the power outage, since the broken line had snapped off in the tail housing, they had time to put in the spare tranny. Now Mike is a worker no doubt, but he had never had to do this. If you know our FE motors w/C-6 tranny, changing one is a job even if you've done it before. With all the help that showed up, she made it to 1st round, and Won!!
The reason for my post is to thank everyone that came to help so quickly after they towed her back to the trailer. Heather said there were racers following her. It was amazing.Archie Kohn, Conner Statler, Greg Williams, Walter Murray, Greg Stanfield, David Latino, & the Hidalgo's. I'm sure I'm forgetting some others, but, like I said, I wasn't there. Once again, this shows the true hearts of Sportsman racers!!!
