Default corvette stocker questions???

thinking about a new project and have a couple of questions about a corvette (1978 to 1981)

1) what about the rear housing???? can it be changed or do you have to run an original type with the short driveshafts??

2) if you can change them,,does anyone make a direct fit housing

3) also,,if you can change them,,,,would you want to???

thanks

tim

Tim,

You can change the rear, but I wouldn't if your planning on running a small block. I would try to find some Tom's Differential parts and go that way. The L-48 small blocks just got another gift from the AHFS and won't be a good combination . I would look at a 90's Camaro , they have better specs and are only rated @ 260 HP what a joke.

Jim, the HP is now 269 for the '90 & '91 Corvettes thanks to some racer down in Georgia.
