Renegade Raceway Stock/Super Stock Combo Doubleheader
Yakima, Washington Friday, Sept. 23rd All Run bracket race plus Test & Tune. Gates open at 6pm, action starts at 7pm. Saturday, Sept. 24th Summit Series #9 National Dragster Challenge Checkbook Race in Memory of Joan Fluaitt featuring Super Pro, Pro, Bike/Sled, Sportsman, Jr Lightning, Jr Thunder and Stock/Super Stock Combo. Race for a Wally plus Cash! Gates open at 10am, action starts at 11am. Sunday, Sept 25th Summit Series #10 Track Championships featuring Super Pro, Pro, Bike/Sled, Sportsman, Jr Lightning, Jr Thunder and Stock/Super Stock Combo. Gates open at 10am, action starts at 11am. General admission Friday & Saturday: $10 per person, kids 12 & under FREE. Sunday is Fan Appreciation Day — General admission FREE!! Free overnight camping Friday through Sunday nights. No hookups. Track prepped every day prior to qualifying. 3 qualifying runs each day is the general track rule. I have no info on entry fees or payouts. The track manager told me he was working hard on several sponsorship deals to fund an attractive purse for the Stock/Super Stock Combo races. Yes, that is per day. They really should have had the word out much earlier about the combo. We knew it was going to be happening, but were waiting for something documented to share. It's not my track, so I didn't want to put anything out there until I saw it myself either. Unfortunate, but hopefully the word gets out and it gets supported so there can be another, better one next year.

Congratulations to Pete Olivero winning the Saturday combo race over Tom Williams, and to Tod Haste winning Sunday's combo over Brian Seaburg.
There was technical error which caused first round to be re-run on Saturday. A consequence of the delay was that Jim Devine had to leave, giving Pat Brooks the first round single in their match-up. Larry McLanahan had problems with his white Cobra Jet Mustang, giving another single to Cal Method. McLanahan retrieved his back-up Cobra Jet to re-join Sunday's eliminations. Brian Seaburg was #1 Qualifier both days. Special thanks to Larry Merk & Cal Method for handling the ladders.
