Default Trailer Fire

Greg Teel, a class racer from the St. Louis area lost his car and trailer to a fire on the way home from Cordova last weekend. A friend of mine sent me a picture and it looks bad. The trailer is a complete loss and I would say the car is too. If he or anyone that is reading this that talks to him, tell him we are really sorry to hear about his tragedy.

Thanks Ryan & Jeremy, yes the trailer, golf cart and all of the contents are a full loss and the car is most likely one also. I am trying to figure out how to get the car out of the trailer to see if there is anything on it to save. The body, interior are all gone or trashed, the cage bent down from the heat, the wheels melted off and so on. The engine has a hole melted in a valve cover and it melted the carb so I am not sure what I will have to salvage from the engine. We are going to try to get it out this week to see if anything can be saved.
Thanks again,
Gregg

Dave, I only had coverage on the trailer. I had just checked about a month ago on the race car but did not have everything sent back in to get it in place. Had been too busy racing and catching up at home and work. Seems like a bad call now.

The RV 455 I purchased recently worked great. That is one of the products that is really good. You do not realize how stained your white trailer is until you wipe an area with that product. Race car insurance might be another good purchase. Also you may want to check over the other items you carry with you as our golf cart was not covered under our normal policy. There was a separate addition to the policy for golf cart coverage that I did not have.

Not posting this to make you feel worse (that would be impossible), so for everybody else, use this as a lesson on getting your race car insured. I have my SS/AMX covered for $65,000 and pay $390 per year. I finally got the coverage because not only do I have an open trailer (invite for thieves) when traveling but at present the car is at a fab shop and I hate NOTHING more than having my race car out of sight! I went thru Don Kennedy of Kennedy Consulting. He runs a GT/DA Pontiac. Support other racers, they may support you someday!

Sorry about your loss, sounds pretty bad...
