Default Lt1 92-97 motor questions.

Changed opti to opti with msd cap and rotor and found out that the dowel pin was only 0.230 into the drive slot, I think they recomend 0.380

Sprocket bolts seems grinding in drive slots, wrong timing set oem roller ?

Oil pump drive dident looks so good, cracked tighten more than 13ft-lbs or can it be any other reasons ?

Can you use a bronze gear on the oil pump drive?

I made the mistake of testing a different brand of cam one time when mine was still a street car. Still had an Opti. The shoulder on the front was too long. Way too much end play. Had the bolts hit like that, and drove the rotor forward into the cap. Tore stuff up. Nothing but Comp Cams in my engines now.

Im going to take the timing chain cover off and see if the cam sprocket center is for lt1 opti .

0.230 length of dowel pin feels not safe to spinn the engine to +7k rpm.

The cam is an old lunati grind RRA1-RL-RF-A pn 50199 264@0.050 in 272@0.050 ex it might not be the best choce and it seems to chew the oil pump gear.
