I see they either added it or I've been running without but I guess I need one now.
NHRA RULE AMMENDMENTS MADE FROM THE END OF THE 201 7 SEASON TO THE BEGINNING OF THE 201 8 SEASON 17 The use of air assisted or electric assisted shift er is prohibited in all Stock applications. Deepene d stock or aftermarket transmission oil pans permitted. Drilling of transmission case or rear of engine block to adapt incompatible units prohibited. Functional neutral safety switch mandatory. Transmission brake prohibited. Tailshaft modifications for bus hing replacement, or NHRA - accepted aftermarket tailshaft, permitted. Any car running quicker than 10.99 must be equipped with a transmission shield meeting SFI Spec 4.1. Any car running quicker then 9.99, SFI 29.1 automatic transmission flexplate and SFI 3 0.1 flexplate shield mandatory. See General Regulations 2:12, 2:14 |

Any car running quicker than 10.99 must be equipped with a transmission shield meeting SFI Spec 4.1. Any car running quicker then 9.99, SFI 29.1 automatic transmission flexplate and SFI 30.1 flexplate shield mandatory. See General Regulations 2:12, 2:14. |

I asked Pat at NHRA the same question but didn't hear back. I would think so. I've tried the CSR on my old Super Stock car. Not user friendly at all. You end up cutting something to make it fit on a A-Body Mopar anyway. I've gone 440 B/SA in my Dart so I figure the CSR is worse with it. Scared to spend 500.00 to find out.

A steel shield is good for 5 years. A blanket is good for 2 years.

Blanket fits so much better for my application and does meet 4.1 spec. unfortunately 2yr. deal.
