They are going to be a little soft, but a few years ago they put a drain tile down both sides. It has been raining off and on for weeks, and will continue into next week. The NASCAR track across the street has been a pitting option a few times in the past.

Rained pretty hard yesterday afternoon, forecast is heavy rain this evening.
From forecastweather.gov:

Today: A 10 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 5pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 71. West northwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming northeast in the afternoon.

Tonight: Showers and thunderstorms before 1am, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm, mainly after 1am. Some of the storms could be severe and produce heavy rainfall. Low around 54. East northeast wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.

Wednesday: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 7am, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly between 7am and 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 75. East southeast wind around 5 mph becoming west northwest in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Wednesday Night: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 58. East northeast wind around 5 mph.

Thursday: Showers and thunderstorms likely before 4pm, then a chance of showers. Cloudy, with a high near 71. East wind around 5 mph becoming north northwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%.

As Lyn mentions, the oval track parking lot is always a pit option.

I was out there on Sunday. The ground was saturated to say the least. Now with the Monday rain and future showers, plan on bringing your extra fuel jugs, tow straps, and scuba gear. I was told that they will most likely be parking racers at the Nascar track. That will be determined once the NHRA officials get in town and make the call. Best of luck to all.

Rained pretty hard last night.
Anyone there tell us if they are parking Sportsman in the grass or at the Nascar Oval?

Moving in now
You get to pick one of 3 choices...take your chances at the dragstrip, stay at oval track, or withdraw

“Due to the condition of the ground as a result of weather you will have three options.**Option one, park in the sportsman pits if space is available.**Option two, park outside the oval with the option to tow your vehicle.**Option three, withdraw from the event.**If you elect to withdraw a credit will be applied to your account after the event.**You are not required to notify anyone of your plans to withdraw.

If you withdraw from the event and purchased credentials, please email either Michelle Sieradzki (msieradzki@nhra.com).**Please allow up to 24 to 48 hours to refund any credentials purchased.

Thank you.
NHRA and Route 66 Raceway”

I went over to the pits yesterday and got stuck. Came back to the NASCAR track and got parked. Racers are parked over there but Ill bet many are stuck. Had a steady rain overnight but the skies are clear now.

Sunny and dry all day today. Started about 1 hour late due to the rain overnight/early AM but we are finished for the day on schedule.
