Do you have Mecure's contact info? They did pal around together during the mid to late 70s. I'm trying to locate some pictures of the old Modified cars that O.D. and Barnes Clayton use to run around here. By the way, didn't you tell me that you had some old pictures stashed away?
Take care, Bob |

Bob,
OD's son used to be on this site. He and I discussed some of his dad's old stories. As always thanks for all the great pics of the good ole days. Doyle |

Dick,
I've already emailed Mike. He was supposed to look for some pictures this summer. If I didn't live so far away I'd love to help you sort things out. Bob Doyle, I think I asked him about O.D. but I never got a response. Do you ever see Ronnie Yopp? Also, do you remember Barnes Clayton and his multi colored Vega? Pusey said that he thought that he passed away. Bob |

Bob,
I was testing my vette at CPR 2 weeks ago when Ronnie Yopp Jr. came up and spoke. He's drving a really neat camaro (almost Super Stock legal). He said his dad is doing great. We talked about the good ole days especially Richmond one year when Ronnie won HR, George Duff won SS and LD Whitely won Stock. That was cool for those guys because they used to run the same eliminator and would knock each other out. I don't know and I hope I'm wrong but I heard that Barnes had passed away. I guess we were spoiled to be around Garley, Bobby W.,Barnes,Odell Lee,Yopp,Surles,Duff, and many of the others. Who was that with the see thru hood scoop - Charlie Blalock? Boy I miss those days. I wish we could do a reunion race with gas and modifieds. Doyle |

Doyle,
Yep, it was Charlie with the clear hood scoop. Auston got me Charlie's number and I'm going to call him. I talked to George Duff last summer and he was going to get me some pictures of the cars that he drove over the years but I haven't gotten them yet. If you see him, remind him about it. I also talked to Mr. Bobby Wednesday afternoon and he said that he would let me borrow his pictures to scan. If you happen to see Ronnie Yopp ask him if he has any pictures of his old cars that I could borrow. Also, do you ever run across the Goodsons? Thanks, Bob |

Bob,
I see the Goodsons a lot. Randy Goodson (one of the brothers who didn't race) was laid to rest today. Bobby and I were supposed to take his mustang to Rockingham but his engine builder couldn't get the miss out of that fuel injected small block. So he's still trying and should have it ready soon. Believe it or not, he wants to put the 57 thunderbird back on the strip. I keep telling him it's too valuable but like a lot of my Ford friends - he's stubborn - just kidding. I'll tell him you were asking about his family. Hope to see you the next time I go to Garley's. Doyle |
